<p>CHEYENNE &#8212; Tuesday&#8217;s primary election divided Republican support among seven candidates for governor.</p>
<p>But the Wyoming Republican Party is confident that voters will unite by Nov. 2.</p>
<p>Former U.S. Attorney Matt Mead narrowly won the primary governor&#8217;s race by 714 votes. After the results were tallied, his competitors congratulated him on the victory. The former gubernatorial candidates also pledged support for Mead&#8217;s campaign to become Wyoming&#8217;s next governor.</p>

<p>The GOP gubernatorial candidates in the 2002 five-way primary and other Republican politicians pledged to support the winning candidate. After former House Speaker Eli Bebout won the nomination, the other candidates pledged to support him as he was campaigning against Democrat Dave Freudenthal.</p>
